If Only for a Moment
Trembling with every beat that I hear in my chest a deep thud here a thud there wondering if this is really what I want with your strong hands and your soft lips is this what mother had taught me? to be intrigued with a man with swagger and longevity? in touch with his emotions in tact with every new fad to ensure that he was rad touching me with such ease and compassion yet lust was more captivating his eyes a pool of forget-me-not's with every release from his mouth a word smooth like butter would captivate my imagination and evoke my emotions... knowing that these words weren't included in the sermons I heard every Sunday... but taking a leap into his inviting sensual side I dived head first with no more than a millisecond of thought on how good this could feel... if only for a moment ... if only for a moment I would have thought about the risk I was taking... the struggle with going to sleep at night .... the struggle with waking up to see my parents in the morning... yet his smooth brown skin seemed to encompass my thoughts and shred them like they had no feeling because again his broad shoulders were holding me and his lips whispered a song that no other man could ever hum so beautifully ... in the morning will this be all I have to offer ? a mere memory of what was ... the plane ride he took back to his home town was probably one of happiness as I sat back and drowned in my defeat... those little cousins were probably his offspring and I ... well if I only for a moment, would have thought before hand the man that was only a two night stand might have been more than just a joyride .. now I hide hands over face wishing that I wouldn't have run this race with ... him .. if only for a moment...
