If, Then Can

If rays of light refract, rend rainbows,

then surely I can make a change

If salmon somehow stagger homeward,

surely I can stay the course

If men have trekked the might of mountains,

surely I can rise above

If Christ, crucified, still cometh,

then surely I can learn to love

Surely I can learn to love, to live, and then let go

To leave this world, last breath a laugh, if anything at all

If anything at all, I can surely make a stand

Surely if, and only if, surely then I can

If forest, frayed from flame finds flourish,

then surely I can start again

If Hebrew hearts have healed of Hitler,

surely I can lick the wounds

If Universe, yet yieldlessly yonder,

surely I can further shove

If two still stay true, through test of time,

then surely I can learn to love

Surely I can learn to love, to live, and then let go

To leave this world, last breath a laugh, if anything at all

If anything at all, I can surely make a stand

Surely if, and only if, surely then I can

If sinner, stained to soul sees salvation,

then surely I can now atone

If carbon can compound and create the Cosmos,

surely I can build from this

If every entity's ever evolving,

surely I can fit the glove

If Ghandi, godly, gave til his grave,

then surely I can learn to love

Surely I can learn to love, to live, and then let go

To leave this world, last breathe a laugh, if anything at all

If anything at all, I can surely make a stand

Surely if, and only if, surely then I can
