IF WALLS COULD TALK
If walls could talk
What exactly would they say?
How many things have they seen?
How many screams have they heard?
How many wrongs would not have been?
If walls could talk
Would that boy be murdered in his own bedroom?
Would that spouse be battered while she cries and plead?
Would that man be hanging on a rope tied to it's own roof?
Would that innocent soul be aborted? Would that little girl lay raped and bleed?
If walls could talk
What exactly would they say about me?
Would they stand in court and be witness to a crime scene?
Would they feel my pain if I put my back against them and lean?
Would they be sorry if I brush against them and bruise my skin?
If walls could talk
Would they tell the world about my darkest secrets?
For how would they be bribed for them to remain discreet?
Would they laugh at my insecurities when they are alone and gossip?
Would they close their eyes when I kneel to pray and worship
If walls could talk
Would they tell me how handsome I am if my mirror betrays me?
Or would they be quick to point out my flaws and judge me?
Would they tell my crush how I really feel about her?
Or would they twist the words and give my heart a scar?
If walls could talk
How many tales would they tell?
How many cases would they fail?
How many lies would they unmask?
How many things would they tell from dawn to dusk?
If walls could talk
I would never say a word
