If wishes

If wishes were fishes and the moon loved the wolf,
maybe we could have enough love for us both.
If we were like Alice and escaped to Wonderland,
all of our problems could slip from our hands.
If we could fly away like Peter Pan and escape to a world like Never land,
we could heal the scars caused by knives and our own hands.
We strive for learning, to know everything around us,
but when we're taught lies all we're doing is burning.
Then by crying from the aching feeling knowing that you can't fix all the corrupt laws.
Now all you can do is pray to your reality that was shattered under God.
There has to be hope right?
There was in those stories you were read to at night.
Well this is real life, nothing ends perfect but sometimes it tries,
you just need to find the people who show you a light,
sometimes those people return from the darkside.
They've seen things that make you scream and cry yet their hearts are still so kind.
And at last, if we were to love instead of fight,
maybe so many people wouldn't try to take their own lives.
