If you ask me..

If you were to ask me

when I was 5 years old

What I wanted to be When I grow up

I would tell you I wanted to be a lawyer

Cause I thought they were brave and bold

If you were to ask me

the same question

When I was ten

I would tell you. I wanted to be teacher

Just like my father way back when

Then fast forward four more years

That were filled with

laughter,

smiles,

And tears

and ask me

That very same question

My answer is different now

Because I want to be a little bit of everything all in one

Like a star in the sky

That shines as bright as the sun

Ive thought about being

An author, a singer

Maybe a scientist or Teacher

But I know thats not possible

Because I can't be just 1 thing, either

To be honest

Im not sure what I want to be

10,15 or 20 years down the line

But I'm pretty sure others Have

an idea of what they want me to be

That they try and force me to confine to

I often listen to others

Talk about their dreams and

Futures that seem to be

somewhat aligned

while I sit there awkwardly

Feeling left behind

Almost like the black sheep

Or the ugly duckling that was abandoned

And constantly wheeped

Can somebody tell me

Cause I just don't know

Lord is this a sign?

I surely could have a clue about something

Of the future or the day that follows

then I realized that I cant always gurarentee or even be sure of tomorrow

no way no how

But I can do something to help better me for tomorrow

Starting with now

I might know much

But this I know

whatever I do or

Wherever I go

Even if I journey.

Into the unknown

To stay true to myself

And make desicions that are smart

And most of all

Keep an open heart ❤️
