If You Could Measure Love
If it could be measured
a priceless thing as love
How would you describe it
What would you think of?
Is it by the mind
By how you think or speak
Or by how you feel
Hearts racing, knees weak
Would it be the amount
of time together spent
Or by the experiences had
and by what they meant
Would you measure it by beauty
How they caught your eye
Or if you are content
In how they satisfy
Is it by personality
That makes it worthwhile
Like if they make you laugh
Or how they make you smile
Is by how far you'd go
Or by the risks you'd take
By flexibility or strength
If it could bend or break
There are endless ways
that I could write of
on if it could be measured
The priceless thing as love
But if I had to choose
I wouldn't think twice
It's by what I'd give up
By what I'd sacrifice
