If you knew
If you only knew that the girl that was always smiling and cracking jokes was feeling.
Was it despair, abandonment, fear, self-pity, or anxiety?
Was it all of them?
She always made sure that everyone was doing okay but was anyone ever checking to see if she was okay herself?
No.
How is it that a girl abandoned by both parents was supposed to feel any type of compassion for others?
How was it that she was supposed to grow up knowing that the only person she had was herself and that indeed was her biggest enemy?
Well, that girl learned to love.
She learned to be the love she never received and flourished to make a change.
She learned to laugh, smile, and finally love the image she saw in the mirror when no one else cared to even look or bother.
She learned to put herself first instead of drowning in the pool of self-pity that she was once drowning in.
It was indeed that love that saved her from committing the biggest mistake of her life and ending it all before it even started.
