If you love them, let them go

When I look at you,

My heart swells.

When you laugh,

A smile dances,

Across my face.

We get in the car,

Driving to anywhere,

Just to be alone,

With each other.

But the time comes,

When we have to go.

Back into reality we dive,

School, work, jobs,

They add up.

It slowly overtakes us.

But hope is not lost,

Love does not fleet.

All that’s needed,

Is a breath,

A kind word.

Our paths,

Not always intertwined,

But always held together,

Because I love you.

Our interests differ,

And so do our friends,

But that's okay.

Because in the end,

Love keeps us together.

We will journey down,

Separate paths,

Only to come back,

To one another,

Because I love you.
