If You Open Up Your Heart Tonight
Laying in between the hands of time
Your arm wrapped around me
And you, with mine
I graze my one leg up against yours
And you pull the covers over my shoulders.
My head is craned in your neck
A perfect fit
A perfect rest
Silence in the midst
Darkness fading out
You're heartbeat on low
In the distance of sound.
You turn the TV down on low
And I feel like I'm on the beach
But I'm laying on your chest
Relaxing in my sleep
You kiss me gently upon my head
And the waves wash over me like sand.
This is when I realize
I've never felt so loved before
Until this moment
This moment I adore
You stay up late
Late into the night
And let me sleep
In the comfort of your might
The walls come down
The white picket fence too
All the breathing eases
And I let myself disarm
I finally feel safe
In someone's arms.
Oh how I've been strong
For far too long
And far too much on my own
But your love is so simple
And yet so sweet
You're my morning sunrise
Something some people can only see in dreams.
Oh darling, you are mine
And I am yours
Past our troubles
Behind closed doors
Nothing is as good
As being yours
L'amour toujours.
