If You Really Love Me
I keep counting
Getting lost in my own head
I sleep with your ghost
In an empty bed
I count the rain
I count the time
As it slips by me
I don't see
I can't understand
Why you couldn't just love me
The way
A man
Should love a woman
You buried me
So deep
Underneath
The surface of your pain
Always just a grain
Compared to a mountain
My pain was always a second glance
Never worth your time
And I sit here
Let another day slip away
As another lonely night
Slips its way into my skin
And I can't help
But wonder
If you ever really loved me
Like you made me believe
You keep coming back
Over and over again
All the work I do
Comes to an end
All I want from you
You can't give me
But you still come back
Your wounds bleed
Without me
So I sit here
On this cold floor
And I hold your hand
I kiss every scar
I heal your broken heart
While mine wilters
I have no more days left
To spend on you
I have no more nights
To spend crying alone
All I gave you
Was the best and worst of me
And it took all this
For me to see
That you were never
The best for me
And as much as I want to wait
And love you
The way I promised to
There's nothing left
For me to give you
So if you really love me
Leave me be
