If You Were Me
If you were Me
would you swing back
would you scream
would you talk
would you stay silent
If you were Me
would you still try to be perfect
would you still try to be happy
would you still go to therapy or
would it be easier to deal with alone
If you were Me
would you test those around you
to see if they'll leave or
would you let yourself get attached
just to have them walk away
If you were Me
would you pinch your skin
just to make sure you're still there
to make sure you still exist
to make sure you can still feel
If you were Me
you'd be surprised what you'd do
just to remember that you exist
