Ignite
My love, take me into the fire
And guide me into the flames.
Clasp my hand
Interlace your fingers with mine
And we will burn together
Let us savor the sweet pain of ashes
Let us taste the smoke in the twisting dance of our tongues
Let us feel together the disintegration of everything that we are
My love, take me into the fire
And guide me into the flames.
I don't mind the excruciating pain of burning
As long as I experience it with you
I don't mind my transformation into ashes,
because when the inferno dies down and our hearts and lungs
intestines and fingernails and teeth are naught but dust,
We will finally be intertwined.
Inseparable in our little pile
of newfound dreams
The ash that was me and the ash that was you are now indistinguishable to pallbearers
So they will simply leave us be
And when the wind begins to sweep away our remains
Our particles will bond with the undeniable attraction that is true love
Destined to float together on the capricious currents of air
For as long as this planet
continues to exist.
Though we were painfully separated in life,
I will forever travel every inch of this earth with you in death.
And that, my dear...
Is worth a lifetime
of burning
