Ignorance
I'll never understand
The problems they faced
The rejection, the fear.
I'll never understand
The indignation of being denied
Their right to vote.
I'll never understand
How anyone could be so cruel:
The rationalization isn't sound.
I'll never understand
What they had to face,
And I hope I never will.
