Ignorance

Ignorance. 

Ignorance breeds hypocrisy,

Breeds frustration, anger, and jealousy.

The white middle-aged male 63 

Who can't trust any other ethnicity

As he glares judiciously at all the could-be Countee Cullen's across the street.

Or the woman-loving man who doesn't understand

Another's man love for his own gender

And his inability to express his appreciation through vows at the alter

Because for the simple explanation of "That's just not right."

What's right? What's wrong? 

I believe in a Love inside all of us

Deeper than any kind of hate or prejudice.

If we could just communicate 

That Love instead of that hate

It may not be to late

To reach a profound understanding.

Ignorance isn't bliss,

Ignorance is to ignore,

That's when the hate scores.
