Ignorance is Bliss

Ignorance is Bliss

Some say that ignorance is bliss; that you’re better off not knowing,

If you know then you’re responsible, if you’re responsible you’re held accountable…

And the cycle continues…the blame ensues,

“It’s not my fault.  I’m a product of society."

Where social responsibility is as common as honesty, loyalty and integrity…right?

“My daddy wasn’t around so I had to hit these streets, make these ends meet…put those latest Jordan’s on my feet...”

Hungry, not from the inability to eat;

But from the chase and exhaustion of trying to live up to what society deems as cool, desirable, popular, the "in" thing;

The inability to think for yourself, create your own path, follow your own dream…

Ignorance isn’t bliss…It’s a choice.
