Ignorance & Relationships
Ignorance is bliss
Or so they say
He probably doesn’t speak English.
Ignorance is bliss
Or so they say
If he wants help he’ll ask for it.
Ignorance is bliss
Or so they say
Oh he’s probably smart.
Ignorance is bliss
Or so they say
He won’t need help.
It’s everyday that I see stereotypes
Being Asian comes with mixed thoughts
People think you’re smart
The model minority.
People think you know math
The model minority.
Sometimes people expect too much
And you’re devoid of socialization
People think you’re from China
The FOB.
People think you don’t know English
The FOB.
Everything is wrong.
I’m not fantastic at math.
I know English.
I need help like everybody else.
Asians are like other ethnic groups
They have the same social problems like others.
But ignorance really is bliss.
You don’t have to worry about others.
You can assume your expectations are always right.
You can ignore how others live.
You can live by what you know.
The ignorance I’ve experienced growing up,
Is what I think is flawless.
