Ignorant people

It's one of those days where I can't breathe The oxygen helps but I need some relief I can't even walk around the block The first time that happened, it was a shock When I go shopping I'm in a wheelchair It's embarrassing because People just don't care They think I am lazy Or perhaps just crazy. They can see the oxygen I wear And still I can feel them Judging me with preconceived notions That someone 22 years old Can't really be sick It hurts me when I hear Whispered comments About how I don't really need the chair It really isn't fair I'd like to open their eyes To the pain they cause inside So that maybe future kids like me Will be treated with courtesy
