III

I know it’s a cliche, but I love you still,

Even though you hurt me more than you know,

With ev’ry glance and touch I feel a thrill,

You walk in and I always feel a chill,

Until recently, you’d come and I’d glow.

I don’t know if you ever saw the clues,

Some of them couldn’t be more obvious,

I may have caused you to have a short fuse,

I know that I can never change your views,

I just hope I can be victorious.

You are the stars when I’m in the darkness,

On my own, I feel like you’re still with me,

I dance alone with you in awkwardness,

I will always think it’s still a maybe.
