Il Tempo

A Venetian house, surrounded by vines.

An Italian dock, created with pines.

A nearby cafe, a table for two,

I sat there alone, just waiting for you.

A Siamese cat, caring for her young.

A white pelican, preparing to lunge.

A nearby cafe, I knew it was true,

I wasted my time, just waiting for you.

A house on the street, its lights turning off.

A tired old mom, she began to cough.

A nearby cafe, she looked at me through.

I began to cry, just waiting for you.

A man sitting down, the sun said goodnight.

A chair made a sound, purely out of spite.

A nearby cafe, the man was done, too.

He fell in headfirst, just waiting for you.
