I'll See You Again Someday

Dear those in Heaven,

I miss you with all my heart,

There are quite a few of you looking down on us,

Some of you left with no warning at all,

Others just couldn’t bare the part.

I know I’ve made mistakes,

I know I don’t always make you proud,

But you left me in pieces,

And I couldn’t stand the heartaches.

Great grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors, pets,

You’re all up there keeping an eye on things down below,

I wish you’d come visit,

I’d love to meet some of you that I’ve barely ever met.

While I know you’ll never be on Earth again,

I continue praying that you will,

I see you in my dreams,

And I’m filled with feelings that I can’t maintain.

I miss you all more than ever before,

My heart feels like an anchor,

Pulling me to the ocean floor,

The pain I feel,

Feels like I’m fighting a one-woman war.

I’ll see you all again someday,

I know this can’t be it,

So for now it’s a ‘see ya later,’

And I’ll see you again when it’s my time for that special ‘getaway.’
