Illegal Friend Sees

In a new world that’s not so new,

Just bigger times two,

Too much to gain

Too little loose

She hides what she feels

Taking  her time,

To shape a new her

That everyone likes,

Nobody but me

Can see,

All the lies and the hurt that hide underneath.

When will she let go,

Stop caring what they think

Her times almost up

She’s fading away.

She can’t see what I see

Won’t hear what I say

Not understanding that I care

Her days almost here

I know I’ve done my best

Holding her hand

Guiding her steps

Wiping her tears
