I'm afraid

This is so hard.
Sitting in the dark.
Wondering where my life will take me.
Will I end up happy?
I admit I am afraid
Of the things that happened yesterday, of the past, and the future that's coming way too fast.
I know I can't put my life in pause.
I can't direct what happens or make the laws.
But I wish so bad
To be happy not sad.
Deep down I am hurting.
I hate to say it but its true.
I don't want to harm anyone.
Especially you.
You are always there for me
You used to tell me to dream.
Well I'm trying to do that.
But, I am being held back.
It's a battle between my mind and my heart.
Should I try, knowing it may all fall apart.
Or should I stay forever in the dark?
I want to make you happy as well as myself too
I'm  trying to find the way but everything is blinding me.
I want to be free, I want to find me, I just hope I can do that.
And I know it doesn't just happen suddenly.
Please don't try to tell me what to do.
I know you're trying to guide me but I am not you.
Although there are some things in common between you and me...
I'm not going to give up on my dream.
