I'm Ashamed

I lay next to her feeling life a hypocrite. I’m ashamed, I’m ashamed to be the reason she pour pounds of make-up on her face. I’m ashamed that I became the same man who, who beat my mother for feeding me first. I became the man who tied me up when I would fight for her. I became the same piece of shit that tormented me . I’m the man who hears voice, but the only one that matters is the one that says she’s a whore. A drunken soul lost and alone trying to change because, I’m tired of seeing her lip bleed. I don’t know how it happens by the time I hit reality she’s on the ground. Her blue eye getting darker as the pink on her check fades and purple starts to come. The purple sinks in her porcelain sink like a bullet wound bleeding out. Again lost and alone I don’t know how this beauty queen could be with a man like me.
