I'm Becoming Whole

I find myself falling in love with who I am.

I haven't fallen [in love] like this before.

My brown skin allows itself to be kissed by the sun.

The sun was made for me.

For All the BROWN girls like me.

My eyes are brown, the color of fertile soil

This soil creates life.

I have learned to love this piel de miel.

My eyes too, are brown.

I used to be ashamed of my brown eyes

Color of shit, I always thought.

If only I had known that life comes from soil

Beatiful brown soil.
