I'm Deserted on an Island and What do I Need?
I'm deserted on an island and what do I need?
Is it a cell phone, or book, or just a place to be.
I ponder the days and the outcome of stay.
I think of the people I'll miss and say....
Today's a new beginning, I need not the material woes
I need not the stress or the expectations, no
I need not the media or hype of it all...
What clothes to wear, the parties, the mall
I don't need netflix, snapchat, or twitter
I don't need sweets or things that are bitter
But this is what I do need, and with all my heart
I need a day to relax to plan a fresh start
A moment to remember and be grateful, you see
For what I need most is found within ME
The song my grandpa would sing or the stories he'd say
All make me happy to be grateful, today.
So on my personal island it's only right, you see
I only need what matters and what's inside, to be me.
