I'm Fine

I'm Fine

That was my first lie.

Then as the days bled into one

I forgot waht it felt like to smile.

"Why do you look so sad?

Just be happy", they say

So I tell you my story

You tell me I'm lying, attention seeking

I plunge deeper into this neverending pit

So far from the surface I can't even see the sun

So the next time you ask, are you okay?

I'll just smile and say,

I'm Fine.
