I'm Gay, So What?

Being straight just wasn’t it, 

So I decided to quit. 

“I’ll be gay!” I said, 

And with that, all my thoughts have lead.

I will push for equality and justice in the world, 

But I questioned how would I do that? My mind swirled.

I looked into what affects the LGBTQ community the most, 

And from that I learned the general public I need to coax.

I need to teach them that eventhough gay marraige is legal, 

Descrimnation stil exists and its aimed at LGBTQ people.

If I marry a girl, 

My heart will do a twirl. 

I will have found someone I love, 

And I will want to give her an endless hug. 

But there is just one problem, 

I could get fired from my job tomorrow. 

Because I decided to love rather than hate, 

So to the world I must debate. 

I am human and who I love does not matter, 

So please do not take my job away from me and end your hateful chatter. 

I will fight until the future is better, 

Because we are no scarlet letter. 

We came to love, 

So please have homophobia fly away like a dove.
