I hate high school so much
I can’t wait for it to conclude
While the memories to be made
In our minds we exclude

Great, I’m almost sixteen!
Hooray, eighteen! Twenty-one!
But soon the days will be here
Where we wish again to be young

How old do we have to get
Before we learn to slow down
Letting our lives fly by so fast
Without any time to look around

While in the middle of the school week
We are wrapped up in our sorrow
We want it to be the weekend
Just assuming we’ll have tomorrow

It is constantly becoming clearer
We’re basically wishing our lives away
So just stop and smile for a moment
And say to yourself, “I’m glad it’s today.”
