I'm Happy
It's a weird feeling
When the world is light,
Airy
When it all feels alright
For the first time in days, weeks, years
Because you know there is more
Because you know there is always nighttime, even on the sunniest of days
Because you know there is always an exit, even on the longest rides
Because you know there is always a breaking point, even on the most flexible of pencils
Because you know there is always
Because you know there will always be
An end
The darkness hangs around the corner,
A warning
Your happiness is wary
Freyed
A wise thing,
Tested by time
Tested by the worst nights
And yet
You're not sure whether it's the truth
Or just another lie you've convinced yourself of
"I'm fine"
"I can handle this"
And now
"I'm happy"
