Im In His Song
The words slipped out of his mouth like poison,
I knew all along
I could hear it in his v oice, the reason
the reasons for his silly song
he wrote of me
my childhood dreams
he used my heart
he ripped it at all it's seams,
he knew what he'd done
but he didnt care
he had a new song
so he'd freely tear
tear at everyone one of us
all the girls he led on
everyone that he made miserable
as he would move on
he never stopped lying
he never stopped smiling
he always had a reason to leave
he always knew we'd have our hearts on our sleeve
he'd say that he'd be a shoulder to cry on
but he'd leave us with nothing but a lost love
and a body to lie on
he wasn't the man he claimed that he was
he wasn't prince charming
or even much fun
he wanted it all
and he wanted it now
he just wanted our bodies
never wanted to know how
know how we thought
or how we dreamed
maybe how we loved
or how we could leave
so now i'm left broken
and left to replace every piece
i'll have my guard up always
to never believe
never believe in him again
he wasn't a man, not even a friend
he made us cry and he made us useless
so now im left here
worth nothing but him
he knew he'd ruin us
so he thinks he can come back
with his quirky smile
and his deep blue eyes,
he cant have me back
and he knows why
if he thinks im stupid
well then god knows he's wrong
because now he's in a poem
and im in his song.
