I'm that kid.

Yes, I am that kid.

The one wo sits in th back of the class and says nothing,

Not because I'm to good to talk to you as so many believe

But because I cannot seem to force the words out of my throat,

My voacl cords constrict like a cobra who has caught it's prey.

I am the kid who has their nose stuck in a book the entire time they are not doing school work,

Not because I enjoy it but because I cannot seem to do anything else.

The one who is top in the class but refuses to raise their hand for the fear of having to talk out loud.

The one who whispers when it is time to yell,

The one who is silent in the middle of the party,

Not because I am bored,

Just because my throat has swallowed my words like food,

My brain has shut down like I'm taking exams till I just can't get the words out.

That's the word to remember in this,

Can't

I want to talk to you,

All of you,

But I simply can't.

At home I'm loud and obnoxious,

with friends it's pretty much the same,

But with strangers.

Well,

My body simply won't let me,
