I'm the kind of girl

I’m the kind of girl
Who dreams of the sky
Who watches the clouds
With stars in her eyes

I’m the kind of girl
With hope in her heart
And love in her hands
Till it tears her apart

I’m the kind of girl
With stones in her soul
With demons in her mind
That won’t let go

I’m the kind of girl
Who knows what she wants
But gets less than that
And more of life’s taunts

I’m the kind of girl
People see but don’t see
Because if they lie to themselves
They can keep reality

I’m the kind of girl
That shatters like glass
Because the past and present didn’t want her
And the future seemed too vast

I’m the kind of girl
That you know. You’ve seen.
Don’t let the next one go.
Because you won’t forget me.
