I'm Looking For

I'm looking for that brighter day, a place where I belong

no need to hide in fear of hate

no need to show a false pretense.

But seeing it, as it may

I'll do it myself and make the way,

when the foul air is clean of the stench of pain

when the blood of the innocent ceases to rain.

I'm looking for that better life,

where I'lll be reborn a better man,

and in my resurrection, in this new light

I wash away old memories,

only then will I stand with my fellow man.
