I'm lost
Lost in a Forest
Moving from tree to tree
This is what my studies does to me
The Dark pale light shines across my face,
it seems I may have lost this race
The test scores beseech me, attempting to defeat me
I can't take this much more. Lost in my studies forevermore.
I'm losing myself, who am I? Every grade stings like a black eye
This poem was written as I was smitten
by the idea that I could write of the false corruption of the "teachers might"
"You're not dismissed" I must reminisce about days when students where not controlled
By the test scores which often does not represent them as a whole.
Sure, you may think me stupid, even bold
But I assure you my story will be told
For through education I have learned
To be smart my thoughts may be heard,
But is it truly my thoughts I don't know
If I don't think like you, i'm wrong I should go.
Drowning Under water. Sunken by pride
The titanics bane, my studies studied in vein.
But I say to you good student, you're not alone, i'm here too.
I've found the road, through the forest moon, by dawn the sun rises
I'm winning this fight
A breath, fresh air, I have seen beauty beyond compare.
I'm swimming not sinking, I will live through the waves.
Though I am strong, my mind is my crutch.
I will suffer no longer, I am freed by my mind, I know this much.
