I'm Louder When I Write
Feeling deeply and loving truly only go so far
If you're not heard, not understood, not felt by another heart.
So I pen freely and ink wildly, I scribble to the stars
Because the word is a universal language.
Speaking jumbled and talking mumbled eat my dreams alive
Incapacitated, not emancipated, I struggle to survive.
Then I write it down on the back of my hand; now I'm starting to thrive.
Because the word is universal music.
I'm mediocre and kind of normal when you hear my voice.
Wait..I'm more...I'm more secure...let me stop the noise.
Let me fill it out, with pen and pad, then I'll be First choice.
Because the word is universal strength.
I write to feel and feel when I write, so I'll go on writing.
It's energizing, life reviving, and I'm sure...much more inviting.
You've heard me now, and I haven't said a word...isn't it exciting?
Because the word is a universal language.
I'm louder...when I write.
