I used to think I was alone

Then I heard his voice, across the street, my friend was

Again, I thought no one cared

Until his hands held mine, next to me, my lover was

Each a different mindset but both an impact my life

Each a hurtful person to me but both someone I need in my life

Crying seemed useless when more than one person cared

Hating seemed invalid when people fought my demons for me
