I'm Not Afraid

Hi, darling

I’m scared

I’m very, very afraid

The world is falling down

I can tell

It’s falling

          falling

                falling down

The walls are collapsing

Like a cookie crumbling

Falling

      falling

            falling down

The sky falls from the sky

Crashing down

Giant, heavy, destructive pieces of sky

Crashing

          crashing

                    crashing down

It’s going to fall on my head

It’s going to trap me

And I won’t be able to escape

Trap

   trap

      trap me

Underneath all the rubble for all of time

And the ground is about to break

It’ll fall beneath my feet

And I’ll be falling

Falling

      falling

            Falling down

Forever and ever

But it’s okay

It’s all going to be okay

Because I love you

And you love me

And you’ll hold the world up

You’ll keep it from breaking

Your love keeps the walls standing

So I don’t have to run around holding it up

Worrying about one wall falling while I am holding another

Your love keep the sky all the way up there

So I don’t have to worry about it falling on me

So I know the sky won’t touch a hair on my head

Your love keeps me from getting trapped

Underneath all the rubble

So I can stand tall and grow strong

Your love keeps the ground beneath my feet

It keeps it from collapsing

So I don’t have to fall forever

And if it breaks

If it all breaks

If the world falls apart

You’ll be there

And we’ll piece the world back together

One by one

Piece by piece

With love and kindness and hope

And the world will be whole once more

I don’t have to be scared

I don’t have to be afraid

Because you’re right here

By my side

Because you love me

Love

   love

      love me

And you know what?

I love you too

I love you, darling
