I'm not a kid anymore
I’m not a kid anymore
This year I turned twenty-four
I check my back account, I’m poor
I check the mail, bills galore
Where is the key to my apartment, I need to lock the door
I’m not a kid anymore
How could I have thought school was a bore
Going to work every day feels like a chore
Nine to five drains me to my core
I come home I’m exhausted, I snore
I’m not a kid anymore
Each decision I make I am unsure
When will I be able to spread my wings and soar
I feel helpless, my mind is at war
I compare myself to others but try not to keep score
I’m not a kid anymore
I think I’m depressed but I can’t be sure
I search webMD, I look for a cure
All this stress has me in an uproar
I go for a run, my legs become sore
I think maybe I’ll try the drugstore
Maybe I’ll even go buy some liquor
I’ll get a glass and give a strong pour
I’m not a kid anymore
Before I sleep I bow my head and pray to my savior
I ask for forgiveness and for restore
I know he can hear me and will answer for sure!
I am not a kid anymore
