I'm Not Ready...

I am being affected by the unknown

My heart's sinking like a stone

An ailment I cannot explain

I am being consumed by a faceless pain

This was something I have always dreaded

This is a direction all humans are headed

Most would not expect someone young to have this fear

I promise you though I'd rather disappear

I need to kill the butterflies

I must protect my guise

What could this emotion possibly be?

Don't say it! Lock it up & throw away the key!

Quickly! Beg, pray, and plead--go away!

I would never be a part of this ridiculous cliché

Remember what you're told-- you're cold hearted

You're so heartless, you're practically the departed

Don't you dare make a reveal

This is why your soul has a seal

How could you even write this?!

One step too far and you'll fall into the abyss

Once you fall, you'll never get out!

Trust your rules, never doubt!

Because if you ever admit

You know your heart will surely split
