I’m outside, enjoying the view and warm sun

Guaranteed, this is where I’ll always be

I hear the thump of deer, grunt of a steer

I walk all around, as far as I can see

It’s peaceful out here, better than a shopping spree

I’m out here alone, just how it should be

Chirping birds and a buzzing bee

I watch the trees sway and see the sky is clear

Sitting, sipping on some sweet iced tea

The grass is a go sign, I take off wildly

I’ll go where the wind takes me

I take an old path that’s overgrown and weedy

It leads to an opening, where deer appear

Silently I watch them eat shrubbery

Then I continue my journey, slowly to sightsee

Silently singing to myself off-key

I will never leave for the city

There’s too much hustle and bustle to be even near

The noise is a cover for the natural beauty

I’ll stick to the woods, sun, and miscellaneous bee

You can leave the country to me
