"I'm Over You and Me"

Pain is you. Heart broke is me. Can’t you see That we’re not meant to be I’m over you and me. I’ve put up with your cries and lies. We were together for so long. I realized I was wrong. I thought we would be together forever But it turned into never. One, two, three Many more times than that Ya caught my heart with your sharp darts Then turned right around and stabbed my back. Now I’m over you and me. I want a girl that’ll me right, Every single night That doesn’t wanna bite. You’re gonna have to believe, That I’m over you and me. Pain is you. Heart broke is me. Can’t you see That we’re not meant to be I’m over you and me. What cha’ gonna do in the future? Now that I’m over you and me. Are you gonna get another boy Who’s gonna be another toy. I hope you realize I’m over you and me. I want a girl that’ll treat me right, Every single night That doesn’t wanna bite. You’re gonna have to believe, That I’m over you and me. I’ve moved on from us. You should too. You’re gonna have to say What you believe. You’re gonna have to say, “I’m over you and me.”

I completely understand this poem and I absolutely love it. I had been through a relationship where I had loed him more than anything and we constantly had a problem, eventually it got to the point where we had to just call it quit for good because the relationship had just turned so toxic for the both of us. Of course, not being meant to be, doesn't mean you don't love someone and that is what results to many of our heartbreak poems. Thank you so much for writing this. Have you read to or given this poem to the person it was meant for? What was their reaction?
