I'm A Person Too
I was silenced
you told be that my boldness was annoying
you refused to aknowledge me because I was too loud
but I guess you expect me to describe how I somehow silenced myself
I was scared
I felt your icy breath whisper down in my ear as you bent down beside me
"your opinion doesn't matter"
but I guess that I somehow scared myself
I was small
you bashed my head repeatedly into the cold brown leather of the outdated school bus
you towered above me and you made sure that I noticed
but I guess I should've been proud of my height
I was assulted
you put your hands on me
so did many others throughout the years
but I guess I should've just forgotten about it
I was ugly
you refused to talk to me because I didn't look like everyone else
you would walk beside me and utter the most horrible things
but I guess I just couldn't take a joke
I was...
the things that happened to me weren't my fault
the things that happened, shouldn't be forgotten
but instead used to shape me into a whole new person
I am strong
I don't care what anyone thinks about me
I stand up for what I believe in
I am a leader
I lead my peers to express their opinions
I encourage uniquness and individuality
I am beautiful
I don't look like everyone else, and I love it
I am uninterested in societies outrageous standards
I am weird
I enjoy making other people laugh
I don't want anyone to ever go through what I did
I AM LOUD
I'm not afraid to voice my opinion
I don't second guess my volume
I am...
myself
and that's all that will ever matter
