I'm Pretty Sure I Deserved Better

I miss the days

when I thought you were perfect

For months of recovering

taught me

you weren't even close

Should it really matter

if I don't want to be "saved"?

Who gives a shit

if I can't "think myself straight"?

I loved you

and adored you

But I guess that wasn't enough

I shouldn't have to be

an immaculate role model

for you to care about me

That's not what matters

in real relationships

If that's how love really worked

I never would've wanted your sorry ass

to begin with.
