I'm A Scattered Compilation of Blue Craters
There's a blue crater on my desk.
It's small.
Remarkable insignificant. Just a dent, basically.
But some student that sat here before me
took the time to carve this little dishonorable hole.
And so I thought
Is my heart like that?
Not my actual organ
Not the icky blood-pumper
But
The spiritual center
The sector usually hidden so deeply inside of people that they just can't find it
even with their gurus and pastors.
I thought,
Do I have craters?
Has a person taken the time
to carefully and precisely
chip away at me?
Sure, there are casual chasms
in my heart
And accidental ice-skater scratches
on my heart
But has there been intentional damage?
And is that always bad?
Because I think this blue dimple
Adds character.
And dang it,
These acne marks
Are battle scars.
These unfeminine callouses
Are testaments to my hard work.
I have little blue craters all around
and within
me.
And those flaws are what make me flawless.
