I'm Sorry

When we met I thought it was bliss.

You see I was caught up in your sin and you were giving me something I thought I wanted.

I thought If I cared enough, If I loved enough, If I gave to you everything you wanted.. then I would be enough.

But turned out I was the one losing, every argument ended in an "I'm Sorry" and who was it coming from?

From me.

I'm Sorry, that you felt the need to use me, or maybe I'm Sorry that I made myself so available to your every need.

I'm Sorry that I felt the need to apologize for your deeds, because I just wanted it all to end with me being within your embrace.

I'm Sorry that I did not see you for who you were, but instead an idea, one that you could not meet.

I'm Sorry for the night that you wrapped your hands around my throat, causing me to choke up on my words.

I'm Sorry that even though you still manage to have rage within, pointing the blame on me that you can not have peace.

I'm Sorry that I could not give you the peace that you seem to so desperately need.

Because at the end of the day, though you tried to cause me pain, I can see it as a reflection of your own pain, confusion, hurt.

And so I'm Sorry, that I must leave to protect me.
