I'm Sorry

My dear friend,

I’m sorry.

I’m sorry that it’s come to this

Where you feel there’s no escape

I’m sorry that you can’t go on

Like you arrived late

And the train of life has left

I’m sorry that you feel so alone

That nobody in this world cares

I’m sorry that no matter how many words

Fall out of my mouth

None of them make a difference

I’m sorry that you’ve fallen into a world

Filled only with black and white

And I’m sorry that you can’t see the light in it

I’m sorry that the only friend

You think you have

Is Death

And you long to be by his side

The world to you at the moment is a place

Where you don’t want to be

Where you feel you have no place

And you don’t belong

And I’m sorry

But I’m not sorry that I’m going to fight

For your life and happiness

I’m not sorry that I love you so much

Even if you don’t love yourself

I’m not sorry that I find every

Bumped, bruised, or battered

Part of you beautiful

I’m not sorry, my dear friend,

That I am willing to do

What it takes

To see even the slightest change in you

That tells me you’re okay

I’m not sorry that I love

Every part of our weird friendship

That makes people give us weird looks

But I never mind because I get to see you smile

I’m not sorry that I met you, dear friend,

And I’m not sorry about the memories

That I’m going to cherish forever

So before you start apologizing too,

Just know,

I’m not sorry for not wanting you to go.
