I'm Sorry
You tell me you love me
you say that your there for me
you say that you will help me succeed no matter what
you tell me that you will help me
and i believe you
but
when you turn your head to look at me
in the back of dad's old toyota
and when i meet your eyes
you scream
" I hate you."
with a burning anger
it's then that i start to keep track
the "don't talk backs"
the "why is everything so difficult with you"
the "why arent you more like your friends"
the "you're crying over nothing"
the "why do you act like such a child"
the dissaproving looks
the anger barely suppressed in you as i cry
the sadness i constantly feel
and the pressure on my shoulders that i can never rid myself of
because i want you to be happy
and proud of me
so
im sorry
if my faith in you
is dwindling
and im sorry
if im not good enough
and im
sorry
so maybe
you'd like it
if i just shut up
