I'm Sorry Marcus

I feel contempt in your tone, Well, at least it's in your eyes. So much future left unknown, I watched our history die. Where does that leave me? Uninvolved in your universe. At my yard sale there's our memories, Next to the broken clock and ripped purse. I'd say that you don't want me anymore, But I can't because I want you. Best friends do not slam the door, Will you return at your next cue? I'm sorry if I loved you wrong, I tried so hard to do it right. In this leave of absence I loved you all along, But woke up crying at night. It's not the heartthrob love, I'll clarify, It's the unconditional best friend. It's caring that you don't reply, And worried it's the end. There isn't another Marcus like there's not another me, I'm chained to my loneliness, come set me free.
