I'm Sorry/Thank You
Dear Momma,
All I can say is that I'm sorry.
I'm sorry that I didn't get to spend enough time with you.
I'm sorry that I took every last moment with you for granted.
I'm sorry that I didn't take the time to realize how much you were truly hurting.
And most of all, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you I loved you enough when you could still hear it.
I'll never forget that miserable car ride to the hospital. Or watching you take your last breath.
I'll never forget the touch of your cold, frail, hands or your perfect smile that was too big for your thinning face.
But most importantly I'll never forget how much you loved me.
So maybe instead of saying I'm sorry, I need to say thank you.
Thank you for the work ethic you instilled in me, and teaching me that knowledge is the way of the world.
Thank you for showing me how important it is to be strong yet caring, calm yet daring and most importantly to always be myself.
Thank you for the wonderful years we had, for raising me to be the woman I am today, and for inspiring me to be just like you- the woman I most look up to.
I'm sorry our time was cut short, but thank you for the never ending love.
I love you. I miss you. And I'll see you again some day.
Love Always,
Your Babygirl
