I'm still young but have come so far

What is my future? I thought I knew. I thought it over, through and through.
I sold Girl Scout cookies and camped in tents, I played T-ball and jumped the fence.
Bowling tournaments, trophies, and plaques, my future is bright there’s no looking back.

Giggles and curls, a beautiful, fun little girl. My families love was so strong, no one would know that things were wrong.
I didn’t ask questions but I saw the tears. My mom was so strong, I had no fears.
She taught me so much, be humble, give thanks, no one knew how much dad drank.
Family trips, we traveled and laughed. My parents’ love for us is a natural craft.
Every mountain, every obstacle, and storm they got through, taught me that I had to fight too.

I’ve learned so much, I volunteer, commitment, dedication, I persevere. Years of involvement, doing what I know, allowed me the opportunity to glow-up and grow.
Music is my passion. Teaching is my goal. Through life experiences and leadership, I’ve come into this role.
As you get older, your tolerance will grow. Learn to pick battles, learn when to stay low. Education is the focus, knowledge is key, I am college bound, but nothing is free. Someone should have told me to study for the SAT.  Got a job, bought a car. I’m still young, but have come so far!
